Tembo reveals Sekhukhune’s biggest need ahead of Pirates clash
Sekhukhune United mentor Kaitano Tembo reckons that there is no room for error from his side as they need more points to move up the log standings from the bottom.
Tembo was speaking ahead of the DStv Premiership clash against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. The kick-off is at 17:30.
The ex-SuperSport United coach said that they cannot afford to drop points again and that they should capitalise on their home ground advantage.
It has been not a good start to the season for Babina Noko, who after just eight league games have only collected seven points and are languishing at bottom of the table [15th place].
“Well, I think preparations have been going well. We had enough time to rest and also look at areas that we need to improve on as a team, and things we need to continue doing well,” he told the club’s media officer.
“We had an opportunity to give other guys an opportunity who are coming off injuries to recover. The international break gave us more time. But you know a break like that you might have to start again.
“Hopefully the players would be in a good mood looking at the nature of the opponent we are playing against.
“We will be playing against a very good team [Orlando Pirates]. So, it’s a big game and we have prepared very well and players are looking forward to the game.
The 50-year-old coach went on to say that they won’t change much as they will stick to their “normal attacking football” as they now need points and results, and performances.
“We need to play our normal attacking football because we are really in need of points. We need to win games and this is our home game, so we can’t really hold back,” he added.
“What is important for us now is to go out there and give a performance that will give us good results and I’m quite positive with what I have been seeing at training.”
