The role Jackson Mabokgwane is playing at Baroka

Baroka FC head coach Vincent Kobola has described the club’s skipper Jackson Mabokgwane’s role at the club as pivotal.

Kobola likens the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper to a spine as he keeps the former top-flight team intact.

He said that the goal-minder is one of the most subtle, most innovative, and important players in his squad.

For Bakgaga, he has been a crucial part of the side since the start of the new campaign.

He has repeatedly proven this by bringing a calming influence to the Limpopo club’s defence with the excellent command of his 18-yard box.

KOBOLA ON MABOKGWANE…

“You know, I just told myself that we need a spine in the team,” Kobola said when asked how vital Mabokgwane is to his side.

“And Jackson Mabokgwane is the one. You have Jackson, Phumulani [Ntshangase] and Sifundo [Dlamini], so that’s a spine.

“If you have a spine, the rest outside you can put the young ones [Under-23 players].

“But Jackson plays an important role in the team. His leadership abilities are out of this world, and he knows how to manage the game.”
