Amaglug-glug head coach David Notoane has revealed the two areas they need to work on ahead of the second-leg of the 2023 AFCON Second Round qualifier against Togo.
The South African Under-23 Men’s National Team have been hard at work for the return leg set to take place at Orlando Stadium on Sunday, 30 October.
The kick-off is scheduled for 15:00.
Notoane’s charges played out to a 2-all draw with Togo in an away first leg of the qualifiers last Sunday, thanks to goals by Antonio van Wyk and Ashley Cupido.
As a result, Amaglug-glug have an upper hand to cruise to the next round of qualifiers given their two away goals against the West Africans.
Despite Notoane remaining upbeat of advancing to the next round, he mentioned the two positions [defence and upfront] that they need to address ahead of this important encounter.

“I believe we did well in Togo last weekend as we managed to come away with two goals. But we will need to be more alert in defense and aggressive upfront, as we will be looking for a straight win on Sunday,” Notoane told SAFA media.
“We have had a few challenges where a few players had to be withdrawn from the squad this week.
“But we have called up players who are hungry and we want to achieve for the country.”
Notoane further stated that his troops are all in good condition, with the medical team “treating a few knocks from last weekend’s showdown.”
“We are well-rested since returning on Tuesday and we still got a little bit of time to work on our tactics before the match on Sunday,” he added.
“However, everyone is fit and ready for the next match.”
The winner of this much-awaited showpiece will progress to the next round of the qualifers in March 2023.
The actual tournament will be held in Morocco next year in June.
