The 2022/23 DStv Diski Challenge roared to life this past weekend at King Zwelithini Stadium.

As expected many youngsters impressed on the first day of the matches.

FARPost looks at top five talents to watchout for this season who may make huge difference and make a breakthrough to the DStv Premiership.

Relebohile Ratomo

The Orlando Pirates new signing Relebohile Ratomo impressed on his debut. The School of Excellence Academy graduate scored a brace against rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday as they won 2-1. and was named man of the match.

He was snatched by the Buccaneers at the Pirates Cup played earlier this year after he was named Player of the Tournament for his dazzling performances on the pitch.

Holomo Mopelo

Holomo Mopeli

The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Holomo Mopeli will be one of the players to watchout for this season. On Sunday against rivals SuperSport United he ensured that his side emerge 2-1 victors.

Mopelo was superb between the sticks. He made many brilliant saves to make sure Masandawana walk away with the Tshwane derby bragging rights.

For his exceptional performance, he was named the Man of the Match.

Jerome Karelse

Jerome Karelse

The Sundowns striker made his long return to football on Sunday with an impressive comeback, scoring a brace.

The Northern Cape born footballer was injured in January, leading him to be ruled on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Siphamandla Madondo

Siphamandla Madondo

The Cape Town City forward made sure the Citizens rule the Western Cape after scoring a brace against reigning DDC champions Stellenbosch FC on Saturday.

The best moment was when he scored the winner in the 91st minute as the match was destined to be a two all stalemate.

He was named the man of the match from managing to separate the two teams after 90 minutes.

Wandile Duba

Wandile Duba

The Kaizer Chiefs youngster had a great campaign in the Shield cup last season helping the team to lift the trophy for the second time. He scored over seven goals.

This campaign he will be aiming to replicate his last season’s fine form in the Diski Challenge. He didn’t have as great start as they lost 2-1 to Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates.
