Vasco Da Gama slip into danger zone, JVW thrash City Wizards

Vasco Da Gama failed to collect points in order to increase their chances of avoiding the chop after succumbing to a 1-0 loss to City Lads away from home in the Hollywoodbets Super League midweek fixture.

And the Western Cape club showing no signs of turning their form around with five games left to play. 

Vasco Da Gama came into this match having suffered a 6-1 humiliation at the expense of Tshwane University of Technology [TUT] over the weekend. 

This defeat saw Vasco Da Gama remain 14th on the log standings 16 points from 25 outings.

The side has only managed to win four games, drew four and lost 17 in the process.

OTHER RESULTS 

In other results, JVW produced a stunning performance as they scored four goals to condemn Coal City Wizards at Puma Stadium in Witbank. 

The Blue Diamonds continued with their fine form following their 1-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic this past Sunday. 

The victory put JVW on 51 points in 25 games and remain in fourth place on the log standings.

 In the last game of the day, the University of the Western Cape [UWC] got the better of Richmond United 4-0 at home. This was the Blues’ first time meeting l Richmond this season. 

UWC game into this clash with a big win [5-0] against struggling Tsunami Queens.

The Cape club is currently placed third on the Super League table with 53 points after 25 games.

A kind reminder, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies wrapped up the 2022 Super League race after thrashing Coal City Wizards 9-0 on a fortnight ago.

Banyana Ba Style are currently in Morocco for the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League and have already won their first game against Nigeria’s Bayelsa Queens on Monday night.

The South African champions will take on Wadi Degla of Egypt on Thursday, 3 November at Grand Stade de Marrakech Stadium.
