We know what’s at stake, says Mncube ahead of Chippa clash
Sekhukhune United midfielder Vusimuzi Mncube says they know “what is at stake” as they gear up to take on the in-form Chippa United in a DStv Premiership clash at Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday [17:00].
The 29-year-old Mncube reckons that they will prove a success at Chatsworth despite recent poor results.
Mncube and Sekhukhune come into this game following their 3-1 defeat to SuperSport United away from home a fortnight ago.
Meanwhile, the Chilli Boys are hot like chillies having won three of their last league games under the tutelage of Morgan Mammila, who orchestrated Chippa’s upturn ever since taking the coaching reigns from the demoted Daine Klate.
‘Skheshe’, as he is popularly known within the football cycles, has featured in five league games for the Limpopo club.
In those five matches, he has managed to find the back of the net on one occasion and weighed in with one assist.
However, Mncube is confident that his side will be able to turn their fortunes around and he is unfazed by the Gqeberha-based outfit’s good form.
MNCUBE IN A BULLISH MOOD
“Coming from a loss I think the boys know what is at stake,” he told Babina Noko’s media officer.
“We pumped up and ready to take on Chippa United.
“It doesn’t matter if they have won three games in a row. This is a game of football, it has no therefore.
“We are really looking forward to this game. I’m very confident that we are going to win this game.”
A week ago, the club’s head coach Kaitano Tembo identified the area his side needs to work on in order to avoid disappointment moving forward, especially in the defence.
The former SuperSport United mentor mentioned that they need to deal with set plays, and if they can defend better when it comes to set plays, then they will have a chance against their opponents.
Currently, Sekhukhune are placed 13th on the table with 10 points, whereas Chippa are in the seventh position with 14 points. They have both played 10 games so far.
