We’re going to enjoy ourselves, says Ledwaba after GladAfrica promotion
Magesi FC coach Jackie Ledwaba, who was full of praise for his charges, for securing GladAfrica promotion says they will take it easy in Sunday’s final showdown against La Masia as they have already fulfilled their goal.
The Limpopo-based club made a comeback to the South African second tier five years after their relegation. They defeated North West University 2-1.
“We’re happy, more than happy, our primary objective was to come here and get the status, so we got the status. Going into Sunday’s game, we are going to enjoy ourselves. I’ll tell the boys to go and enjoy because we’ve achieved it,” Ledwaba told the media.
Ledwaba, who admitted to being worried about the NWU threat revealed how they hey had planned to overcome their opponents.
“We planned for them because we knew that they can run and have got a lot of energy and they are good in terms of combination play. I told my players that as long as we don’t give them the spaces, they won’t play that’s why we sat a little bit at the back so that they mustn’t play.”
“We forced them to play what is not their game, we forced them to play the way we want them to play. As long as they didn’t have the space, they won’t hurt us. I told the boys to force them to play those long balls, its not their game, they will just hope and see,” he added.
Magesi FC will face La Masia in the final on Sunday. Kickoff is at 15:00.
