Brandon Truter is wary of the threat Kaizer Chiefs possess, but the AmaZulu coach says he knows what to expect from Amakhosi in the MTN8 semi-final first-leg encounter on Sunday (15:30) at FNB Stadium.
The Usuthu coach has a close relationship with some of the key players at Amakhosi, having worked with them at Swallows.
According to Truter, the Soweto giants have assembled a very good squad as they look to reclaim the glory days and end their long trophy drought.
However, Truter also emphasised that Chiefs will only win a trophy if the quality players at their disposal are used in the proper manner.
Truter seemingly has a plan for Chiefs as he is also under pressure to win a trophy as the Usuthu management made it clear that they want to see a trophy in the KwaZulu-Natal side’s trophy cabinet come the end of the season.

“They have a good squad if you look at their line-up, the players that have worked with me before at Swallows. The likes of Sifiso Hlanti, Dillon Solomons, Kgaogelo Sekgota, Njabulo Ngcobo, Kamohelo Matlatsi, Letlogonolo Matlou and Siyethemba Sethebe, who was here at AmaZulu” Truter told the media.

“It gives us an advantage that we know some of their players, but coach Arthur Zwane is different from me; he might not use them like I did when I was coaching them. If he can get it right and take them to another level, they might cause a huge threat,” added Truter.
The AmaZulu coach wants to ensure that his troops get the job done in the first-leg and keep a clean sheet.
