AmaZulu coach Folz explains why he’s been pleased with his side lately

AmaZulu FC head coach Romain Folz has expressed delight with his side’s recent performances in the DStv Premiership.

Folz took the reins at Usuthu in October after the club parted ways with Brandon Truter following strings of poor results.

Having spent four months with the KZN outfit, he feels that his troops are finally heading in the right direction.

The 32-year-old tactician claims that they were on the front foot in their previous four league games against Maritzburg United, Richards Bay FC, Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs.

However, in the above-mentioned matches, AmaZulu only managed one win over Amakhosi and drew the rest.

ROMAIN FOLZ HAPPY WITH AMAZULU RECENT PERFORMANCES

“We’re in a league where every team has quality so there’s no easy game,” he told

“Everyone is giving their best shot in every occasion, home and away, so there’s no easy game.

“I’d like to say though that there is much more consistency in our performance for the past three, four games.

“We have controlled most of our games, whether it’s Maritzburg, Richards Bay, Chiefs game, even the Marumo game we had control.

“It’s a matter of us fixing minor details but we have much more grasp of the games. And it’s a very positive sign of things coming forward when you start having control in games and that consistency in performance.”

Since he joined AmaZulu, Folz has only won three matches, drawn eight and lost two across all competitions.

Usuthu are next in action against TS Galaxy in the league match that will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 18 February at 20:00.

They currently occupy the sixth spot on the log standings having accumulated 24 points in 19 games.
