AmaZulu’s Folz not fazed by endless draws

AmaZulu coach Romain Folz is not fazed by the endless draws he continues to pick since arriving in South Africa at the start of the season.

He is yet to win a match since his arrival in the country at the beginning of the season. The former Botswana Township Rollers coach had four draws and one defeat while in charge of Marumo Gallants and has now four consecutive draws at Usuthu.

This is despite the 32-year-old taking the KZN side to the final of the MTN8 without winning a match.

AmaZulu played to a 0-0 draw against Marumo Gallants in a DStv Premiership match at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.

OPTIMISTIC OF THE FUTURE

Despite the draw, Folz wants to take the positives from the result that takes them to position eight after 12 matches.

“If you look at it both ways, you can say it’s not a draw, you can say so far I have only one loss as well,” said Folz talking to journalists.

“But regardless, the most important thing is bringing stability in the team and bringing a shape that is difficult to play against.

“It’s not a good point, it’s not a bad point, but it’s a point that we will take and try to learn what needs to be fixed,” he said.

FOLZ NOT GETTING DEMORALIZED

“Not really, look when you have a team that keeps losing, you will pray for draws. Let’s also understand the fact that when you draw, teams in front of you don’t beat you. So to be able to beat us, it takes a challenge for the team in front of us. So it’s a good point.

“We know we can be solid tactically, so we know where we need to improve, and I told you the reason why we are not that effective in that department. There are many things towards that, and we are working hard to improve that. Your question was, am I worried about the fact that we are drawing again? No. I am not.”
