Arthur Zwane has ‘no doubts’ over Kaizer Chiefs’ high quality

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has put it on record that he has “no doubts” over Amakhosi’s high quality despite their run of poor in the DStv Premiership

This is after the Soweto giants suffered three defeats in a row in the South African football top-flight.

The three losses were against the in-form Sekhukhune United [1-0], AmaZulu [4-0] and the red-hot Mamelodi Sundowns [1-0].

However, Zwane still maintains that his side has quality players and expects them to be a force to be reckoned with.

ARTHUR ZWANE ON CHIEFS’ QUALITY

When Zwane was asked if he believes that his side has the quality to turn the club’s misfortunes around, he said: “Quality is the players that you have in your team that understand the system and individuals who are talented and know that they can easily fit in the team of Kaizer Chiefs’ calibre.

“So, there is no doubt, there is quality. The challenges will be when you’re trying to get the system going.

“We have been just unfortunate this season.”

ARTHUR ZWANE REVEALS WHAT DERAILS CHIEFS’ PROGRESS

The 49-year-old mentor went on to say that whenever the team starts gelling well, there are things that happens which are beyond their control of which in turn derail their progress.

“As soon we start getting things right, we would miss two or three players due to injuries, unforeseen circumstances and suspensions. You know, things that we cannot control,” he added.

In the current campaign, Chiefs have managed to secure just seven wins in 17 league games, as club’s inconsistency continues to hamper their progress.

As things stand, the Glamour Boys are placed sixth on the table with 24 points, a whopping 22 points gap from log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The side’s next league will be against Royal AM on Sunday, 29 January at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, with kick-off set for 17:30.
