Blom: Time for Chiefs to end TS Galaxy hoodoo

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom says it’s time to end TS Galaxy’s dominance over them. However, he’s aware of the threat they pose, stating that there is no small team in the DStv Premiership.

In the past seasons, Galaxy have proved to be a headache for the Soweto giants. Chiefs have been struggling to grind results against the Tim Sukazi-owned side.

Last season both matches in the DStv Premiership ended as nil all draws. However, The Rockets were victorious in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32. They won with a narrow scoreline of 1-0.

The famous victory of TS Galaxy that will go down in the history is defeating Chiefs one nil in the 2019 Nedbank Cup Final.

“They [TS Galaxy] have been giving us problems in the past, but it’s something that we looking forward to stopping,” Blom told the club’s media department.

“We look forward to the game on Wednesday. We promise to give our best, we promise to work hard, and we promise to try to get maximum points.”

Blom eager to end TS Galaxy dominance

Blom also revealed that they are anticipating yet another tough encounter at home. According to Blom, the league has changed.

Despite the Mbombela outfit having poor results lately, they have a good squad. They acquired the services of the experienced trio of Bernard Parker, Sbusiso Vilakazi and Xola Mlambo during the transfer window.

“Let’s be honest, in the DStv Premiership, there is no small team now. Every team is trying to be up there, every team is trying to win games,” Blom added.

Heading to the game on Wednesday, both teams will be aiming to get back to winning ways after dropping points in their previous matches. Amakhosi lost 2-1 to in-form Chippa United, while Galaxy were held to a goalless draw at home by Swallows FC.

Kickoff at FNB Stadium is at 19:30.
