Dove pens emotional letter to CT City
Edmilson Dove has bid an emotional farewell to Cape Town City expressing his gratitude to all of those who have helped him throughout his stay at the Citizens.
The Mozambican professional footballer spent four years at Cape club, having joined them back in January 2017.
Dove recently parted ways with Eric Tinkler’s side on a mutual agreement after the club couldn’t guarantee him more game time given the quality of the squad the side posses.
The 27-year-old left-back managed to lift the MTN8 trophy in the 2018/19 season as City defeated SuperSport United 4-1 on penalties (0-0 after extra-time) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“Thanks to all, to the President, Coaches and staff of the club, to my teammates who for years treated me with affection and respect and allowed me to feel at home,” Wrote the defender on his official Instagram account.
“Not forgetting the club’s supporters for their continued support during all these years together. I will definitely miss you.
“I wish the club and my teammates success in this final stretch of the championship and for the years to come.”
Dove played 105 games across all competitions for the Citizens and contributed five goals in the process.
He recently joined UD Songo that competes in the Moçambola, the top division of Mozambican football.
