Erasmus: Things will change around we just need more time
Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus has asked for a bit of patience from the club’s faithful following a string of bad results in the DStv Premiership. He strongly believes things will change around as time goes on.
On Friday evening, the Soweto giants were held to a one all draw at home by AmaZulu in a league encounter.
The stalemate stretched Pirates’ winless run to four in all competitions, they have registered three draws and suffered one defeat.
The Buccaneers are also in short of goals. The team is also struggling to convert opportunities they are creating. In the past four matches, they’ve only scored a single goal.
“Things will change around we just need more time. It’s a difficult one to take a draw with the chances we created, but we must stay positive,” Erasmus told the club’s media department.

“We need support from the fans to cheer us on and not to be negative, just to cheer us on because they are the 12th man on the field.
“I think we started a bit slow with a miscommunication in the way we needed to press, but we rectified it. After 20 minutes we tried to get an early goal.
“With the incident that happened between our goalkeeper and [Lehlohonolo] Majoro the referee gave a penalty which I didn’t think was one.
Erasmus further reflected on his first goal after linking up with the Happy People for the second time. The described the goal as a good positive.
“We regrouped kept on going and I managed to get on the score sheet, my first goal since I’m back for me that’s a good positive,” Erasmus added.
Defender Nkosinathi Sibisi missed a penalty in the second half that could have put the hosts in the driving seat and in a better position.
For Erasmus and company it’s back to the drawing board as the search for victory continues. Up next for the Sea Robbers is a tricky Golden Arrows tie on Tuesday evening.
Kickoff at Princess Magogo Stadium is at 19:30.
