Folz expecting Luxolo Badi to officiate AmaZulu’s upcoming games

“Don’t you think there’s a problem here?” AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz asked as he expects PSL referee Luxolo Badi and his assistants to officiate their upcoming games.

Badi and Simukele Jali have been under fire since Saturday after making a blunder that cost Usuthu potential maximum points at home in a match against Royal AM.

Just like the president of the club Sandile Zungu, the 32-year-old tactician is sniffing something amiss with how their latest games have been officiated.

Following his side’s match with Thwihli Thwahla, ‘Fohloza’ admitted that he understands that referees are doing a difficult job. But he said, “when mistakes happen every time, it’s not mistakes anymore.”

ROMAIN FOLZ: ‘EXPECT THEM TO REFEREE US AGAIN’

“I went to the main referee, I was not even angry at that point and asked what happened, he said ‘I don’t want to talk’,” Folz said in the press conference.

“Look, the funny part here, we have nine games to play in the league. Expect them to referee us again.

“Despite the event that happened I’m expecting them to be our referees in the next game or after.

“Don’t you think there’s a problem here? Honestly.”

As much as Folz has claimed to have not won some of the games due to referees’ howlers, he has on his own, failed to produce desired results at times.

Results have been below average for the French-Moroccan coach since he joined the KZN outfit in October.

However, getting more draws rather than losing has been masking what has been a poor run for him.

Under his leadership, AmaZulu have played 15 games in which they won only three, drew nine, and lost three.

They currently occupy the 11th position on the table having accumulated 25 points in 21 games.

On Sunday, Folz’s troops will lock horns with Chippa United in the DStv Premiership at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at 15:30.
