Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned Carling Cup champions at FNB Stadium after beating Orlando Pirates 4-0 in the final.
The Carling Cup made a return from a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic with a new format of four teams.
The new format of the Beer Cup allowed all 16 teams in the DStv Premiership to participate in the competition.
With fans voting for the four teams to play in the tournament. Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu were all voted to play in the one-day Black Label Cup tournament.

CASSIUS MAILULA STOLE THE SHOW
The Sundowns starlet gave an impressive performance in the tournament. He was constantly a live wire whenever the team is attacking.
Mailula opened the scoring during the 3-0 thrashing of AmaZulu in the first game. The 21-year-old bagged a brace against Pirates in the final as Masandawana cruised into a 4-0 victory to lift the Black Label Cup trophy.
SANDILE MTHETHWA THROWN INTO THE DEEP END
Mthethwa was on loan at Chippa United last season before returning to Pirates. He was given a run in the centre-back position to replace Olisa Ndah.
Ndah was withdrawn from the Buccaneers’ starting XI, voted for by the fans to honour his national team call-up for Nigeria.
Mthethwa looked solid at the back in the first game when Pirates beat Chiefs 6-5 on penalties. The lanky defender formed a defensive line that leaked four goals in the final against the Tshwane giants.
CHIEFS GAVE YOUNGSTERS A RUN
Arthur Zwane gave Mduduzi Tshabalala, Samkelo Zwane, and Wandile Duba a run in the tournament. Zwane is looking to gradually introduce the DStv Diski Challenge stars into the first team.
MOKWENA AND ERASMUS HEATED EXCHANGE
Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena had a heated exchange with Kermit Erasmus on the touchline. The altercation was seemingly over the red card that was handed to Tapelo Xoki after a career-threatening tackle on Down’s Haashim Domingo.
