The DStv Premiership side celebrated World Teachers day, on 24 January by forming new relations with Upskillist.
Sundowns are not only looking to dominate the football space but are also eager to expand their dominance in education.
During the announcement on Tuesday afternoon, Sundowns encouraged their supporter to head out and to expand their learning capacity with Upskillist.
HOW DOES UPSKILLIST WORK…
The platform is accredited, and offers free courses. Upskillist also prides itself in offering its learners practical skills.
The learning platform offers over 80 courses, including Business Analytics, Photography and Health-and-Wellness, as shared by the Sundowns website.
Sundowns chairman, Tlhopie Motsepe, explained the importance of a football brand like Sundowns to associate itself with companies that give back to the community and are willing to impart knowledge.
Motsepe also said that this partnership will help the Sundowns supporters to enhance their education levels and help bridge the unemployment crisis the country currently faces by offering free courses.
THE IMPORTANCE UPSKILLIST
“As a sports organisation, we are always motivated to find partnerships and deals that add value to the club as well as the brands that work with,” said Motsepe.
“Mamelodi Sundowns is also driven to find businesses that add value to our supporters and give back to society.
“That is the reason we are delighted to announce that our first partnership of 2023 sees Mamelodi Sundowns and Upskillist join forces to provide free online courses to everyone for the whole year.
Motsepe added: “As we know, one of the major challenges that many of our people face is around unemployment.
“We hope that our supporters will take this opportunity to learn for free so that they can strengthen their résumés, explore different subjects, and improve their chances in the job market,” concluded Motsepe.
According to the Sundowns website, their theme for this year is, “To invest in people, invest in education.”
