John Comitis weighs in on Thabo Nodada’s ‘for sale’ rumours

Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has weighed in on the reports suggesting that the club’s midfielder Thabo Nodada has been made available in the market.

This isn’t the first time the 27-year-old is linked with a move away from the Citizens. Last season, he was heavily rumoured to be heading to Mamelodi Sundowns, however, the move didn’t go through.

According to multiple reports, Nodada, who has been with City since 2016, has been on the radar of the PSL’s big three for quite some time.

Speaking to FARPost, Comitis hinted that they are open to doing business with any team that wants Nodada only if they come with a good offer.

JOHN COMITIS COMMENTS ON REPORTED AVAILABILITY OF THABO NODADA IN THE MARKET

“You know I’ve got a building here in Cape Town that’s worth R100 million. If you give me R120 million, it’s available but if you give R80 million, it’s not available,” he said.

“We don’t put players up for sale. We get people to call us, they demand the player.

“If they want him, they come up with the right number, we’re happy to do the business.

“If they don’t come up with the right number, we say thank you very much we are very happy with our player.”

Nodada has been a vital member of the Western Cape side since its inception nine years ago. He has helped the club win Telkom Knockout and MTN8.

Losing him would leave a huge void to fill for Cape Town City.

Meanwhile, this publication understands that City and Kaizer Chiefs have agreed on terms over the transfer of Mduduzi Mdantsane.

The left-footer was close to switching to Naturena in January, however, Chiefs opted not to go through with the deal. But now they’re understood to have snatched the former Baroka captain.
