Khethokwakhe Masuku on what Monnapule Saleng needs to do
Former Orlando Pirates star Khethokwakhe Masuku has told in-form Bucs winger Monnapule Saleng what he needs to do to enjoy a long career at the club.
Musuku recently joined the MM Platinum, famously known as La Masia, in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on a free transfer.
The Soweto-born star, who’s known for his ambidextrous ability and dribbling acumen to go past defenders, has offered some advice to Saleng.
MASUKU’S ADVICE TO SALENG
“What I can say is that when you playing for Pirates, consistency is very key,” Masuku told FARPost.
“Saleng is a very good player with a lot of pace and skills, he’s quick, and he can take on defenders.
“What is also good about him is that he can score goals. He’s a very good player. He just needs to remain consistent and humble,” he added.
Masuku was part of the Buccaneers set up for three seasons after joining the club from Black Leopards at the start of the 2012/13 season.
Saleng was in the starting XI for Bafana Bafana when they come from behind to beat Mozambique 2-1 in a friendly match at Mbombela Stadium.
The left-footed winger was signed by Pirates at the beginning of the 2021/22 season from Free State Stars after notching a Top Goal Scorer accolade in the NFD.
During the first season with the Houghton-based side, Saleng was sent out on loan to Swallows to gain top-flight experience.
Saleng has relayed José Riveiro for the faith he has shown in him by bringing him on board after a successful loan spell with Swallows.
In the current campaign, the 24-year-old star made eight appearances while scoring five goals in all competitions and guided Pirates to the MTN8 final triumph.
The speedy attacker scored a solitary goal against AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium to give the Sea Robbers the first silverware of the season.
