Knowledge Musona’s best three moments in the DStv Premiership
Zimbabwean forward Knowledge Musona remains one of the best strikers that graced Kaizer Chiefs and the DStv Premiership.
With his prolific goal-scoring abilities, Musona scored over 40 goals and 19 assists for Kaizer Chiefs during his two stints with the Naturena club.
The 32-year-old won multiple awards in the gold and black jersey including the coveted golden boot award.
However, the three best moments stand out as the best through his two Kaizer Chiefs stints that left fans wanting more.
WHEN MUSONA SCORED A WORLD CLASS BRACE AGAINST MPUMALANGA BLACKS ACES
Musona had a triumphal entry into the league but it is his brace against Mpumalanga Black Aces on 23 December 2010 at Puma stadium that made him known.
The Smiling Assassin, as Musona is affectionately scored his first with a well taken overhead kick inside the first minute that showed his quality.
In that match, he deservedly won the Man of the Match accolade, making clear his ambition of winning the golden boot.
WHEN MUSONA WON THE TELKOM AWARD
Musona set the bar his for himself when he shrugged off stiff competition from Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Andile Jali to win the 2010/11 Telkom Knockout Cup award.
The Aces Youth Academy star was a vital cog when Kaizer Chiefs accounted for their 13th Telkom Knockout Cup.
What made it more sweet for Musona is that he notched a brace as they defeated arch rivals Orlando Pirates 3-1 in the final.
Amakhosi successfully defended their Telkom Knockout Cup in 2010/11, thanks to Musona’s impressive exploits. And he was rewarded for his efforts.
TWO AWARDS IN 24 HOURS
Barely 24 hours after winning the Telkom Knockout award, Musona accounted for his second award.
The Zimbabwean attacker was named as the DStv Premiership player of the month for October-November 2011.
During that period between October and November, Musona bagged four goals for the Amakhosi in league matches.
He scored against SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates and Vasco Da Gama.
After leaving Chiefs he played in Germany and Belgium. He is currently enjoying a purple patch for Al-Tai in Saudi Arabia.
