However, other fans cast doubt on Abubeker Nasir’s availability for Sundowns’ next match against Orlando Pirates.
The DStv Premiership champions welcome Pirates at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on December 30 2022.
A football supporter calling himself Lazarus has since asked Abubeker Nasir about his availability for the game.
“Let’s fix this one. Are you available for Friday’s match against Pirates? We always hear you have been injured,” Lazarus said in reaction to Abubeker Nasir’s tweet.
The former Ethiopia Coffee FC winger has been a revelation since his dream switch to Sundowns.
THE ETHIOPIAN INTERNATIONAL’S PROGRESS WAS HAMPERED BY INJURIES
However, his progress has been derailed by recurring injuries. Nasir missed some games for the Brazilians before the DStv Premiership went on a break to pave the way for the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
Before moving to Sundowns, the talented front-man had carved out a big reputation at Coffee with his ability to create goals and score.
The 22-year-old lethal striker netted 36 goals in 47 Premier League appearances for Coffee in two seasons.
The Ethiopian international was voted last season’s Most Valuable Player and top scorer in the Ethiopian Premier League last season.
Nassir is a regular for the Ethiopian senior national football team.
He featured for Ethiopia at the delayed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.
Nasir is the fifth Ethiopian footballer to grace the fields of the PSL after Fikru Tefera, Getaneh Kebede, Fisehayimer Begashew and Mohamed Ibrahim.
