Mdaka: You can only make changes when things are so bad

Marumo Gallants coach Raymond Mdaka says it’s too early to panic and make changes to the team despite a loss to Chippa United on Saturday evening in the DStv Premiership.

He stated that changes will only be made when the situation worsens.

The narrow one nil defeat meant the Mdaka’s search for first win this season in the DStv Premiership continues, whilst Chippa got their first victory at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in two years.

Ronaldo Maarman scored the only goal of the match in the second half that saw Gallants sinking deep down on the log standings.

They sit rock bottom with six points from eight matches. So far, they have registered six draws and suffered two defeats.

Mdaka is however, confident of a turn around at the Limpopo outfit since the season is only two months on.

“You don’t just think of making changes, you can only make changes when things are so bad. So far they are not bad, but just that we lost the game,” said Mdaka on his post-match reaction.

“It was one of those games, I think first half we played very well just that we could not get a goal.

“Coming back we were caught in one counter attack and after that we tried to push our boys. We tried getting inside, wide and everywhere.”

Mdaka further admitted that his side were second best on the evening. They lost three valuable points on the road that could have lifted them from the bottom of the log.

“I think they [Chippa United] ended up being a better team in terms of scoring,” Mdaka concluded.

Up next for Mdaka and his troops is another match on the road. They face TS Galaxy who started the season on a fine form

Kickoff at Mbombela Stadium on October 4th is at 7.30pm.
