Misfiring Chiefs could consider bringing a strikers’ coach
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has hinted that they could bring in a striker coach to solve goal scoring problems.
Chiefs lost their seventh match in 17 outings in the DStv Premiership this season during the 1-0 defeat by Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday night.
They have scored 18 and conceded 21 with a minus three goal difference. 10 of the goals came from their forwards with Caleb Bimenyimana leading with seven, Keagan Dolly three and Ashley Du Preez with two. The rest of the goals have been shared amongst the defenders as well as the midfielders.
KAIZER CHIEFS NEED A STRIKER COACH?
After missing some easy chances during the encounter against Masandawana. Zwane believes the club could be forced to outsource the services of a striker specialist if the problem persists.
“Maybe going forward we might need to strengthen that department by getting a striker coach who can help us,” Zwane told the media.
“Because there is so much going on in the game. The game has evolved so if we can’t get it right for us as coaches then maybe we might go that route.”
NO DOUBT ABOUT QUALITY AT DISPOSAL
“We do have the quality but we have the quality with habits,” said Zwane when asked if he is satisfied with the quality of players.
“Quality is players that you have in your squad that understands the system. Individualy who are talented and you know they can easily fit in the team of Kaizer Chiefs caliber.
“So there is no doubt, there is quality. The challenge will be when you are trying to get the system going. We have been unfortunate this season,” he said.
“As soon as we get it right we will miss two or three players due to injuries or unforeseen circumstances, It’s things we can’t control unfortunately.”
