Mngqithi is not upset at all, says agent Makaab 

Mike Makaab, who is the agent of Manqoba Mngqithi has opened up about his client’s demotion at Mamelodi Sundowns

Makaab reckons that Mngqithi is “not upset at all” following the club management’s shocking decision make changes to its technical team. 

The technical changes saw Mngqithi being demoted to the senior coach role at Masandawana, a position which was occupied by Steve Komphela, who is now the first-team coach.

Meanwhile, Rulani Mokwena is taking over as the Tshwane giants’ new head coach. 

The well-known football agent, Makaab was speaking on Gagasi FM on Monday night.

Makaab revealed that the decision taken was made “amicably” between his client and the club. 

MAKAAB SPEAKS… 

“Apparently they were called into a meeting and it was done very amicably,” said Makaab.

“Manqoba is not upset at all. I’ve had a long discussion with him, but as you know I’m away from the office right now. 

“But he called me, so I returned his call today (Monday) and he’s a very sensible person and he accepts that the team hasn’t been doing well and he supports the decision management have taken.”

He went on to say Mngqithi is a “mature person” who took the club’s decision very well. 

“Manqoba is a mature person, mature and emotionally very stable,” he added. 

“It might be disappointing, but the club can be sure they will get the full support from Manqoba.”

Makaab also divulged that Mngqithi’s contract with Bafana Ba Style will come to an end at the end of the current season, but was reluctant to state if the coach’s contract will be renewed or not.
