Ndlovu’s first words as a Matsatsantsa player

Siphesihle Ndlovu has officially been unveiled as a SuperSport United player, three days after it was reported by FARPost and the player has opened up about his move for the first time.

The Bafana Bafana international joins Matsatsantsa from Orlando Pirates on a one-year deal with an option to extend.

During his stay at the Buccaneers, he managed to lift the MTN 8 Cup in 2020 and was part of the Pirates squad that reached the final of the CAF Confederations Cup in May.

Ndlovu began his new chapter with the Tshwane-based outfit on Tuesday where he featured in their friendly match against Swallows.

NDLOVU SPEAKS…

“This is a very big move for my career and I am very excited to join SuperSport United,” said the 25-year-old on signing his deal with SuperSport.

He went on to express his excitement to be working alongside one of the most decorated coaches in the PSL Gavin Hunt.

“Coach Gavin Hunt is an ambitious coach who likes to win,” he added  

“The club has won a lot of trophies in the past seven seasons and I would like to play a part in making new memories and history.”

The Pietermaritzburg-born footballer made his PSL debut back in the 2016/17 season in the colours of Maritzburg United, where made over 80 appearances in his three seasons at the Team of Choice.

He boasts seven Bafana Bafana caps and will be gunning to add more given his move to Matsatsantsa where he is anticipated to get more game time.

Meanwhile, the club head coach Hunt, added: “I’m very excited to have Ndlovu in our team. This is one area in which he will bring good energy in the middle of the park.

“He is versatile and can play in many formations as he did back in his days in Maritzburg United. 

“He’s the right age for us, obviously we will have to settle him in as quickly as possible and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
