One area Arthur Zwane needs to fix urgently at Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has pinpointed one area his side must urgently improve to challenge for league honours.
Zwane says he needs time on the training grounds to improve Amakhosi’s failure to convert their clear-cut chances.
And according to Zwane, the best way to overcome this challenge is for the Chiefs players to work hard to be more clinical in front of goals.
Zwane’s remarks come after Chiefs secured a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows in a DStv Premiership clash this past weekend at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Even though the Chiefs coach, Zwane, was happy that his troops took command of the game, the club’s poor finishing left him frustrated.
The Soweto giants are currently in fourth place on the DStv Premiership log standings with 24 points, seven points adrift of log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Glamour Boys’ mentor insists they will return to the drawing board to find ways to deal with the team’s lack of goal-scoring in the campaign’s second half.
THE ONE AREA ZWANE WANTS CHIEFS TO IMPROVE ON…
“We’ll go back to the drawing board and see where we can do better at capitalising on our opportunities and score more goals because we are making the chances,” Zwane told Chiefs’ media department.
“It is a game of numbers, and if we had scored a third, we would be in a better position because these things can count come the end of the season.
“We need to be more clinical in front of goal, but we are working hard at that.
“I am aware we have just come back from a very long recess, which is unusual for this time of the season, but I like the way we responded, and I’m pleased we did not concede a goal.”
Amakhosi will be back in action when they face Sekhukhune United on Saturday, 7 January, at FNB stadium.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.
