Royal AM coach issues ominous warning to Kaizer Chiefs
A former South Africa U20 coach in the Royal AM’s technical team has sent an ominous warning to Kaizer Chiefs as both sides are set to lock horns in a Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash.
In January, Chiefs defeated AM 2-0 in the DStv Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“To be honest I’m happy with the draw,” he confidently said after learning that Amakhosi were going to be their next opponents in the cup.
Now, Khabo Zondo of Royal AM says Arthur Zwane’s charges mustn’t come to the match, thinking that the same will transpire. He has warned them not to be casual because that could backfire on the day.
He says John Maduka’s troops will exploit the pressure that Chiefs players will be under.

“I just hope that on the day they put their foot right because should they not, they will be under pressure of their own supporters which will be a plus for us,” he told FARPost.
When asked to further throw light on the statement, he said, “Players at times do get excited and lose tactical discipline. This is what I’m talking about.”
“And should they [Chiefs] come up with that kind of attitude of saying we have beaten this club before and it’s gonna be obvious. It will be wrong for them to think that way.
“It will be a chance for us to go out and do better against them.”
Further, it’s worth noting that in four meetings the two sides have had, the KZN outfit has beaten Chiefs three times.
One of the aforementioned wins came in the first round this season when they spoiled the first day of Zwane’s era in Naturena.
This will be the first time that they face off in the cup game when clashing on the 15th of April at the Chatsworth Stadium.
PSL is yet to confirm the kick-off time.
