New Golden Arrows defender Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo has revealed what prompted his move from Marumo Gallants to Golden Arrows.
The 28-year-old centre-back recently signed with the Durban-based side on a free transfer after cutting ties with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa a few months ago.
Hlatshwayo’s move came after he was linked with various Premier Soccer League clubs, including AmaZulu and Richards Bay FC.

“The chairlady of the team, Mam’ Manto Madlala is the one who approached me,” Hlatshwayo told journalists at the club’s media open day on Wednesday.
“I still had the contract that side expiring in June, then they did everything in their way, and I ended up here.”
The former Jomo Cosmos man insisted that he had no issues with Gallants despite parting company with the club before his contract came to an end.
Hlatshwayo had joined the Limpopo outfit from Free State Stars in 2021, and his contract with the club was set to expire in June 2023.
He says he needed change in his career and believes Abafana Bes’thende were the perfect choice.

“There was nothing wrong at Marumo, and no one influenced my departure,” he continued.
“It was a decision I took myself because I thought I needed change.”
Arrows will resume their DStv Premiership season with a home fixture against Kaizer Chiefs on 31 October at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Hlatshwayo will miss the clash as he hasn’t been registered as Arrows player yet.

“I feel bad because I would have liked to play Chiefs,” he added. “No one doesn’t want to play Chiefs, but it’s the first round.
“We’re still going to play them in February in Polokwane.”
