SuperSport have the edge over Pirates, says Williams

Ronwen Williams believes SuperSport United have the edge over Orlando Pirates going into the DStv Premiership encounter this evening (19:30) at Orlando Stadium.

The Matsatsantsa captain said they will look to use their extra days’ rest to their advantage.

“It’s never easy playing them in their own backyard. It’s going to be a tough one. But, they’ve been part of many competitions, so we need to use that to our advantage,” said Williams.

“And, the extra day rest that we had, we need to use it to our advantage, so play them at a very high level. It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be very tough. They obviously want to climb the ladder, but so do we. We shouldn’t give them any respect. We should go out there and try and dominate the game.”

The Soweto giants are in fourth place on the log standings, three points ahead of SuperSport in seventh spot.

“We will try and put them under pressure from the word go, believe in ourselves, believe in our structure, and the game plan. We’ve prepared well, we’ve had the opportunity to watch their last game, so we know what they’re about. It’s just for us to go out there and apply ourselves,” concluded the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.
