TS Galaxy announce arrival of Ivorian forward

TS Galaxy have beefed up their striking force with the signing of the Ivorian international as the transfer window closes on Thursday at midnight.

Galaxy, who are without a recognised natural striker in their squad, have announced the signing of Djakaridja Traore.

Traore joins the Rockets from San Fernando CD, which plays in the lower league of Spanish football.

Interestingly, the 27-year failed to hit the back of the net in 12 appearances for San Fernando last season, a record which might perhaps leave Galaxy fans worried.

GALAXY’s STATEMENT

“Let’s welcome and give some love to our new talisman Djakaridja Traore from Ivory Coast. Welcome to The Rockets family Djakaridja,” TS Galaxy announced in a tweet.

The Mpumalanga-based side have seemingly struggled for form in front of goals which saw them last score when they defeated SuperSport United 2-0 at Mbombela Stadium a month ago.

Galaxy have now gone five games in the DStv Premiership without scoring a single goal.

Sead Ramovic charges played back-to-back goalless draws against Golden Arrows and Chippa United before losing two games against Cape Town City and Orlando Pirates respectively.

Galaxy was held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by PSL newbies Richards Bay at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.

The Tim-Sukazi-owned club have had an impressive start to the 2022/23 campaign after going on a five-game unbeaten run in the opening matches of the season.

Furthermore, the 2018 Nedbank Cup champions kept five consecutive clean sheets.

And goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi was rewarded for his good showing between the sticks with the Bafana Bafana call-up.

With Galaxy currently struggling for goals, Ramovic will be hoping that Traore will hit the ground running.
