We were flat, Zwane bemoans Sundowns thrashing
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says his charges we flat when they were thrashed by rivals Sundowns 4-0 on Saturday.
The sold out match seemed to be a one sided affair as Masandawana were all over Amakhosi from the get go. Peter Shalulile scored a brace, Gaston Sirino was on the scoresheet and new signing Abubeker Nassir scored his first goal for the club.
However, the Soweto giants had their moments in the game where they could have capitalised, but failed to convert their chances.
“We started the game slow, we were not ourselves, judging with the first goal it was manna from heaven. We were not in the game. I think we played about 45 minutes without any decent attempt at goal,” Zwane told the media.
“I don’t know why they didn’t come to the party, they were flat. Sundowns were on top of us with the quality that they have. Sithebe was flat, Yusuf was flat, Cole was flat. I don’t blame them, they gave their all and coming to this game mentally they were still tired.”
“Maybe it could be the game we played on Tuesday, I think it took a lot from us, but we don’t want to make any excuse. I think we only played for 15 minutes in the second half, we played better dominated looked like scoring then we lost it again.”

The former Amakhosi winger is confident that his troops will make amends and find their way on how to get back on track. Only three games have been played so far into the new season.
“Its still early in the season, we can get up and move on. We’ll go back look at ourselves do introspection individually and collective as a team.”
“We’ll get it right, do corrections. This is a game of mistakes and you can only learn from mistakes. We’ll get better in time,” he added.
The Masandawana massacre leaves the Naturena outfit with three points from three encounters. Whilst the winners move to six points.
