What Thapelo Morena expects from Marumo Gallants
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Thapelo Morena says he expects a good and competitive match when they play Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening in the DStv Premiership.
Gallants have shown improvement since coach Dan Malesela returned to the club. They have scored five goals in three matches.
Both teams are on a high and motivated heading into the encounter. They were successful in the continental tournaments over the weekend. They progressed to the next round of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, respectively.
“With Marumo [Gallants], it’s always a good match against them, especially coach Dan [Malesela] went back there. The style of football we are going to be playing will be challenging,” Morena told the club’s media department.

“We know we have to lift our socks and put our minds on the game. We have to take the game as it is when they come to us to fight back and deliver what we have to do.
“We’ll be doing video analysis, so we know how to approach the game easier.”
Morena added that their two-legged tie against La Passe in the Champions League was a must-win because they are preparing for difficult matches. After Gallants, they face Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-final second leg.
“We are preparing very well. We really needed to win to keep us motivated. The games are coming up; we need to make sure we prepare very well,” Morena added.
Masandawana will be aiming to continue their dominance over the Dan Malesela-led side.
The last time the two sides met, the Tshwane giants emerged victorious in the Nedbank Cup.
They won 2-1 in extra time. The match had initially ended in a one-all draw.
Kickoff at Loftus Versfeld Stadium is at 19:30.
