What Mthombeni told Chiefs loanees ahead of Nedbank Cup tie
“I don’t want to give them any pressure, they are good players."
Casric Stars coach Bucs Mthombeni has revealed what he told Kaizer Chiefs loanees; Keletso Sifama and Sibusiso Milazi ahead of the much-anticipated Nedbank Cup encounter on Sunday, 12 March.
Milazi linked with Stars at the beginning of the season, while Sifama joined the club in the January transfer window.
The Chiefs academy graduates are in line to face their parent club as Casric will battle it out with Amakhosi for a spot in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals at FNB Stadium in Soweto. Kickoff is at 6pm.
In the current Motsepe Foundation Championship season Sifama has made seven appearances scoring once and Milazi has played eight matches and scored one goal.
WHAT MTHOMBENI TOLD CHIEFS LOANEES
Mthombeni stated that he has given the duo freedom to express themselves in the field of play on Sunday.
“For me, I just told them, ‘boys, that was your home, now you here. You need to go there and enjoy yourself. Prove yourself that you are here and then show off your talents that were given by God’,” said Mthombeni.
“We are going to play Chiefs; there is no other pressure from me. You’ve been there. You must lead the other group.
“I don’t want to give them any pressure; they are good players; I think they are settling in very well.”
CHIEFS ADVANTAGE
In addition, Chiefs assistant coach Dillon Sheppard believes having Sifama and Milazi at Casric gives them a bit of an advantage as they keep track of their players. Therefore, they have some information on how the team plays.
“We’ve got two loanees there Sifamba and Milazi. We obviously monitoring them, their performances. That has given us an opportunity to see one or two games with our analysts,” said Sheppard.
“We have a bit of information, but the main focus will be on us, on how we set up and how we prepare going into this game.
“As much as we have the information, we still need to play the game, play our game and get the victory to go to the quarterfinals,” he added.
