Phillips set for sensational switch
Manchester City have secured their main summer target.
City have had their £42m bid for Kalvin Phillips accepted by Leeds United after weeks of negotiations between the two camps.
Spanish mentor Pep Guardiola made the 26-year-old his main target as he aims to add more options in the middle of the park following the departure of Fernandihno from the Etihad.
Phillips came through the Leeds academy and went on to make 214 appearances for the side since making his senior debut in 2015.
The midfielder is expected to provide back-up for Rodri in the defensive midfield position.
A key player for Leeds under former boss Marcelo Bielsa, the anchor has also shown his ability to operate higher up the pitch with England manager Gareth Southgate recently using him as a box-to-box midfielder at last year’s European championships.
