Ria Ledwaba’s court interdict to stop SAFA elections dismissed

Judge Brenda Neukircher struck Ria Ledwaba’s court interdict off the roll with punitive costs at the Pretoria High Court on Wednesday.

This comes after the SAFA presidential candidate approached the court to stop the SAFA Elective Congress scheduled for 25 June.

Meanwhile, SAFA CEO Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe has since welcomed the court ruling with open arms.

“SAFA welcomes the decision of the Pretoria High Court to dismiss the application brought by Ria Ledwaba,” said Advocate Motlanthe.

“The Association will continue with the preparations for the SAFA Elective Congress on June 25, and we are happy with the decision.”

With all being said, the SAFA vice president remains confident that she will ascend to the association’s top position after the election day.
