Rooney and Vieira inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame

Wayne Rooney and Patrick Vieira have become the first two 2022 Inductees of the Premier League Hall of Fame.

Rooney won the Premier League title five times with Manchester United and he is the league’s all-time second top scorer.

Meanwhile, Patrick Vieira won the league three times with Arsenal and captained the Gunners to the 2003/04 title without losing a match.

The Premier League describes the duo as “players who combined talent and work-rate to become Premier League legends.”

Rooney and Vieira are the ninth and 10th players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Dennis Bergkamp, Steven Gerrard and David Beckham.
