Tico-Tico tips SA-bound compatriot to succeed in DStv Premiership
Former Jomo Cosmos star Manuel ‘Tico-Tico’ Bucuane is full of confidence his countryman Amad Mamad who is linked with DStv Premiership outfit TS Galaxy after signing a pre-contract will have a successful spell at the club.
Tico-Tico believes the 26-year-old has got it all to be successful because he is a good player in the middle of the park and possesses attributes that make him unique.
“I believe so [he will make it], I think most of all if you a good player, you can play anywhere. I know South African game is different, its intense, high tempo, can be a bit aggressive sometimes,” Tico-Tico told FARPost.
“I think he will need to adapt especially to the tempo of the game. The game is a bit faster than here. I believe that given the time, given the confidence to play he is going to make it, no doubt about it.”
The 48-year-old further praised Mamad’s attributes and strengths.
“I’ve known him for a couple of years, he’s been playing for years now. He’s a very technical player, he’s a big someone, his distribution is very good, he’s a good tackler, but most of all he’s a technical player, very good on the ball. I think that’s his main strength.”
“He’s not the quickest player, but is very good from playing the ball from defence because of his confidence on the ball,” Tico-Tico concluded.
The midfield maestro is part of Mozambique squad that will be participating in South Africa for 2022 COSAFA Cup to be held in Durban next month
