Chiefs striker Bimenyimana declares himself ready for season restart

Kaizer Chiefs’ striker-in-chief Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has declared himself ready for the DStv Premiership season restart.

The Burundian missed some games before the 2022 Qatar World Cup-induced break due to an injury.

The ever-optimistic Bimenyimana has since given an update that he has recovered fully from the injury.

The towering striker has posted pictures of himself on his Facebook account sweating it out in training with the Naturena side.

“Feeling better. Back to the business. We are back at training,” he said.

Bimenyimana also reflected on the disappointment of having to miss some games due to the injury.

The Burundian international said injuries were part of a football career, adding that what matters is bouncing back.

“You have to get back up, no matter what knocks you down each time,” he added.

“Giving up is not an option. Great blessings come with great perseverance. The comeback always better than set back.”

DREAM START FOR BURUNDIAN INTERNATIONAL

Bimenyimana has had a dream start to his career in South Africa and is now the leading scorer with six goals.

The Burundian leads the scoring chart alongside Mamelodi Sundowns forward Peter Shalulile and Bradley Grobler of SuperSport United.

Bimenyimana set a record after becoming the first player in the modern history of the domestic league to score a hat-trick of penalties in regulation time.

Chiefs have since said they were ready to restart the season with an away match at Moses Mabhida Stadium against Lamontville Golden Arrows on December 31 2022.

Coach Arthur Zwane has been busy with his wards training during the World Cup window.

The Glamour Boys have played a number of friendlies during the month-long break.

“According to the coach, the team is looking sharp and he’s hoping to have everyone available when they visit Arrows on the last day of 2022,” Chiefs website reports.
