Ngcobo confident Chiefs will beat Pirates again
Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is in a jovial mood ahead of the Carling Cup, and the Kaizer Chiefs playmaker says he is certain his side will beat Orlando Pirates once again on Saturday, 12 November.
Chiefs will tackle Pirates in the second semifinal of the Carling Cup at FNB Stadium in Soweto. Kick-off is at 12:30. Ngcobo is confident that Amakhosi will emerge victorious after beating their Soweto arch-rivals 1-0 recently in a DStv Premiership clash.
Yusuf Maart caught Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane off his line with a breathtaking long-range strike. That solitary goal won the game for Chiefs.
‘WE WILL BEAT PIRATES’
“The Carling Cup is a good competition. It’s always a big game when Pirates play Chiefs. So it’s going to be a tough game, and we want to win,” Ngcobo, affectionately known as “Mshini,” told the media at Naturena.
“We are ready for Pirates, and we will beat them. We have faith in our abilities as players, and we know what we have, and we will ensure that we compete.
The beer cup is a tournament where fans vote for their favourite stars to form part of the starting line-up, and Ngcobo says he is grateful to the Chiefs faithful as they selected him to face Pirates.
“I always appreciate the support that I get from the Kaizer Chiefs supporters, I appreciate it so much, and I will ensure that I bring my A game,” he declared.
The one-day friendly competition will get underway, with AmaZulu taking on Mamelodi Sundowns in the earlier semifinal at 9:30.
All the four-teams were voted by the fans to participate in the tournament in Soweto.
