Timm reveals what keeps Pirates focused ahead of MTN8 final

Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm has revealed what keeps his side focused ahead of the MTN8 Final against AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening (18:00).

The two teams have locked horns once this season in the DStv Premiership. The entertaining match ended in a one all stalemate as they couldn’t be separated after 90 minutes.

Heading into the final showdown, it’s a different ball game altogether with a trophy and R8 million up for grabs. There will be a winner and a loser at the end.

Timm insists that focus is on their strengths and their opponents, AmaZulu.

“I think in every game that we prepare for, we like to pay attention to our strengths. We have enough quality to set it up the way that we want to do things,” Timm told the club’s media department.

“We’re focused on ourselves and not worrying much about what the opposition is doing. To be honest, we haven’t spoken much about them much.

“We know what we want to do in this final. Obviously, there has to be a winner and a loser. We’ve prepared as well as possible to go on and win on the weekend.”

Timm further pinpointed inconsistency as one of the problem Pirates have been battling out since the beginning of the season, revealing that the squad doesn’t lack confidence.

“The inconsistency has been evident, but we don’t lack confidence. We’re just learning to be as consistent as possible, especially when we get that bit of momentum.

“We’ve just failed to keep it. Looking ahead to the break and the second half of the season, it would be a good way to close the year on such a high,” Timm added.

The much anticipated sold-out final showdown kicks off at 6pm.
