Zwane reveals when Chiefs should start gelling

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has revealed when he thinks his newly assembled squad will start gelling.

Zwane hailed his team’s character and fighting spirit after a comeback victory against Stellenbosch on Sunday in the DStv Premiership.

Chiefs fought back to win 3-1. Nhlanhla Mgaga opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Burundi striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana scored a hattrick, with all three goals coming from penalties.

“I must commend the character of these boys in coming back because it’s never easy once you are a goal down against a team of Stellenbosch caliber.

“We detected terms, we made their life a little bit difficult they looked too predictable,” Zwane told the media.

“We also forced them to make mistakes that led to penalties, fortunately we scored goals from penalties. We had a number of chances that could have increased the score line.

“I think it’s something that testing our character, in those games we came back we won some, some we drew. I will commend that spirit of coming back, maybe it builds character in them that we not going to lose this game, we need to dig deeper.”

Zwane further revealed that he is happy with the team’s progress. The new look Amakhosi side is slowly finding right form. They’ve won their last thee league matches. The Soweto giants are now fourth on the log with 17 points from 1o matches.

“This is a work in progress, everything is not going to be ok in the same time. We are expecting to start gelling next season or towards the end of the season. For the fact that we building this team, yes we’re going to make mistakes, mistakes that are costly,” Zwane added.

Zwane will be aiming to make it four wins in a row when they take on Chippa United on Saturday in the league. On the other hand, The Chilli Boys will be gunning for back-to-back victories.
