Chabalala joins Chippa United
Defender Justice Chabalala has joined Chippa United after recently parting ways with Orlando Pirates.
The Buccaneers showed the 30-year-old the exit door after his loan spell at Sekhukhune United.
He was released alongside Kwanda Mngonyana, Abel Mabaso, Elson Sithole, Wayne Sandilands and Thapelo Monare, who expected to make a U-turn to Soweto giants, according to recent reports.
His agency Rush Hour Sports Management, confirmed the news on Friday.
Chabalala started his football career at Free State Stars development and was promoted to the first team in October 2015. He made 18 league appearances for Ea Lla Koto.
He later signed for the Sea Robbers in July 2016 on a three-year contract.
In January 2017, he joined Chippa United on loan until the end of the season, where he appeared in 14 league matches for the club.
He went on to join Bloemfontein Celtic on loan in January 2020. In September 2020, his loan was extended to the end of the 2020/21 campaign after his agent confirmed that he had agreed to play one more season on loan for Siwelele.
Chabalala was born and bred in Giyani. He is the cousin of fellow footballer Tonic Chabalala.
The defender will be hoping to get more game time under the newly appointed Chippa United head coach Daine Klate when the new season commences.
The new man in charge will be assisted by Bruce July and Siya Gwambi.
He takes over the role previously held by Kurt Lentjies, who has been placed on “special leave” by the Chilli Boys. He served as Chippa’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) coach for the past two seasons and holds FIFA B licence coaching credentials, and awaiting completion of his A licence.
Klate is one of the most decorated players in South Africa, having won the league title five times.
