TS Galaxy’s Ramovic set sights on top eight finish
TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic believes his squad is capable of finishing in the top half of the DStv Premiership table following new experienced additions to the team and a good preseason.
He, however, admits that it’s going to be a mountain to climb because all teams want to be victorious. Last season The Rockets survived a relegation scare after finishing 13th on the log.
He, therefore, calls on his troops to give 100% in all their matches, taking it game-by-game to reach their set goals at the end of the season.
“Every dream of a coach or player is to win the league, but we should stay realistic and work hard. We have set up our goals high. We want to go step-by-step. We’ll take it game-by-game to get as many points as possible to reach our goal. We wish to finish in the top eight,” told the media.
“We’ll try to have a better season, and the season starts now [against AmaZulu]. It will be difficult to finish in the top eight. It’s not a secret. I think we should set up our goals right and should not stop in order to reach our goals. The league is a tough league. We have to be at our best.”
“We’re well prepared; no club or team likes to play and have the pressure of relegation. It was a difficult year [last season], but in the end, we managed it.”
Commenting about his new signings like Sbusiso Vilakazi and Xola Mlambo, the Serbian international is happy with the backing he’s getting from the club chairman Tim Sukazi. This was also evidenced by signing a new contract with the Rockets a few weeks ago.
“We just added a few players that I’m sure they will add quality and put us at a different level. We have good quality players; I’m absolutely confident we are well prepared.”
“We, as a team, have to play well, and of course, with the quality they bring to the game, I’m sure we’ll improve on this stage. The most difficult part last season was we had a lot of chances, but we didn’t score many goals, so this is what we have to improve,” he added.
The Mpumalanga-based team kickoff their 2022/23 season with a home match against AmaZulu. However, their home tie is away from home as it takes place in Johannesburg at Bidvest Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is at 15h00.
