Why Maart is hopeful Chiefs will get it right
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart insists once everyone gets on their feet the club will soon get where they want.
Chiefs have struggled in the opening seven matches of the season, collecting just eight points.
The performances have also left some Chiefs faithful questioning the capabilities of both coach Arthur Zwane and some of the players within the squad.
Maart has also been on the receiving end from the supporters but the former Orlando Pirates player says he understands where they are coming from.
MAART UNDERSTANDS THE CHIEFS FANS
“To be honest if you are a hard worker and they know what talent you have and if you make a mistake they will always be on you,”said Maart during the Chiefs media day in Naturena on Thursday.
“Because they know what you can do as fans and they just what the best for you and I understand it sometimes.
“Yeah, a dream came true (joining Chiefs) and everything but it’s early in the league and everyone is trying to find their feet and we will eventually find our feet and get where we want to be.
“I think everyone is leaning and everyone is trying to find their feet as I said and if everyone finds their feet and gel together then we will get what we want,” he said.
The 27-year-old believes there is no need to panic yet despite being at position 14.
“As a footballer, you can’t panic. You can’t play with fear, to be honest, if you play with fear you can’t enjoy and you won’t get what you want.
“So I think we are getting there like I am saying and eventually we will get our start right and if we get it right we will go and do what we have to.”
Chiefs will take on SuperSport United at FNB on Saturday evening.
