What Magesi learned from previous NFD stint
Magesi management have outlined the weaknesses that made them fail in their previous stint in the National First Division (NFD).
The club gained promotion from the ABC Motsepe League to the NFD in 2016/17 but were immediately relegated at the end of the season.
The Limpopo club now find themselves in the same league after their promotion during the national playoffs in July this year.
Compared to the first time, where they spent most of the time at the bottom, the club started their campaign on a different note.
They are currently in position 12 after accumulating seven points from their six matches.
Their intentions were also made clear with the signing of experienced players who used to play in the premiership such as Elvis Chipezeze and Vuyisile Wana.
General Manager of the club Peter Makgamatha says they have taken some lessons from their previous failures.
“The situation that we are in speaks to itself that we have seen some deficiencies there and there. That’s number one,” said Makgamatha.
“This is part of the whole plan to try and show that we are on par with everything that the teams need. Getting relegated was one aspect of failure, but I think it’s normal. Those questions came on the first day, and we identified where we went wrong.
“That’s what the coach is alluding to saying we are on board with everything. If you look at the previous season, not signing enough experienced players determines your progress. But you can see that now things are done differently. When we came up there, there was no experience. Now we have experience,” he said.
