Magesi FC goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze aims to use the home-ground advantage to overcome University of Pretoria.
Magesi takes on Tuks in the Motsepe Foundation Championship encounter at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.
The Limpopo-based side have had a poor start to the new season, and Chipezeze reckons they can capitalize on their home game to collect points.
“We are coming from a setback over the weekend where we thought we gonna collect maximum points, but it didn’t happen,” Chipezeze told the club media.
“So preparations for this game [against Tuks] went well because we are playing a team that is on form.”
“They are doing well, so we must try as much as possible to ensure we come out with positive results.”
“Especially because we are playing at home, we have to try and give our best performances at home.”
“Because if we can’t win at home, we all know that playing away, sometimes it will be difficult for us to get points. So we will fight as much as possible to get maximum points.”
Magesi is winless in their previous two matches after losing 1-0 to Uthongathi last weekend and drew 1-1 against TTM.
The 32-year-old goal-minder is the most experienced player in the Magesi squad after spending the last four seasons in the top flight with Baroka.
Bakgakga were relegated to the National First Division, and Chipezeze was part of the mass exodus as the team opted to build on a youthful squad.
Magesi is lying 12th on the league table after registering just two victories, drawing one and losing three times in six games played.
On the other hand, Tlisane Motaung and his Tuks troops will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run and reclaim the top spot in the Championship.
