Bhasera tells Luke Fleurs to focus on SuperSport

SuperSport captain Onismor Bhasera has told budding centre-back Luke Fleurs to forget about Kaizer Chiefs and focus on Matsatsantsa, where his bread is currently buttered.

Luke Fleurs is on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar, and SuperSport Chief Executive Officer Stanley Matthews has already confirmed that the player has attracted local interest.

Along with Jamie Webber [24], Luke Fleurs is likely to be sold as the Pretoria-based side continues with their plausible transfer business to boost their coffers.

However, Bhasera, a former Amakhosi player himself, advised the evergreen Fleurs to remain focused on his game at SuperSport, where he has a running contract.

BHASERA ADVICES TO FLEURS

“I don’t want to say much regarding that him, but obviously he and the club, as well as his representatives, know what is happening, so I can’t say much,” Bhasera told FARPost.

“Regarding the rumour, I think the best thing for him is to focus on where his bread is buttered, where he is now, which is SuperSport. I think that is where he needs to focus.

“For ABC to notice you, you need to continue doing well where you are until it shapes up well. Whatever happens for him now, I can’t predict, but he needs to keep working hard.

“He is a very good player, a good young player, so he just needs to focus on his game. Whatever happens then happens, but he must focus on his game.

“They say, in football, the sky is the limit. You don’t know what might come to you next. Just be prepared and give your best.

Bhasera feels the 22-year-old has the potential to attract better offers from Europe. The impressive defender enjoyed much game time under the tutelage of Kaitano Tembo.

But has rather been a fringe player under Gavin Hunt, who reunited with the club in July following Tembo’s sacking in July.
