Kaizer Chiefs assessing Congolese striker Christian Saile

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly assessing Congolese striker Christian Saile at Naturena ahead of the resumption of the DStv Premiership season on December 30.

Nchanga Rangers, vice-chairperson Shapi Shachinda could not entertain FARPost calls and WhatsApp messages seeking to confirm the trials for the Congo-born forward, Saile.

The Soweto giants look to bolster their striking force, which consists of Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Ashley Du Preez. The pair joined Chiefs at the start of the season.

Amakhosi coach Arthur Zwane is seemingly eager to find backup as Bimenyimana and Du Preez were injured at some point in the season.

CHRISTIAN SAILE SAID TO BE IMPRESSING KAIZER CHIEFS

Several publications in Zambia have confirmed that Saile, who plays for Rangers in the top-tier Super League in Zambia is attending the trials.

The reports claim that Rangers captain, Saile has since impressed during his trial out with Amakhosi.

There are indications that the Congolese player is likely set to clinch a permanent deal with Chiefs.

Other reports suggest that Cape Town City are also interested in the 2021/22 National League Top Scorer in Zambia.

Saile is said to be the leading scorer for Rangers with five goals this season.

The forward won the Golden Boot Award in Zambia’s second-tier league last season after scoring 19 goals, helping Rangers gain promotion to Zambia’s topflight.

CHRISTIAN SAILE DESCRIBED AS COMPLETE STRIKER

Recently, Rangers follower Allan Morgan Sakala described Saile as a complete striker.

“Watched him against young green Buffalos at Woodlands when he scored a brace. He is a complete striker,” Sakala wrote on the club’s Facebook page.

“Saile is skilful, he has pace, he is strong and he is a good finisher. He will definitely shine in the premier league.”

Zambia has exported top players to South Africa such as Collins Mbesuma (Chiefs), Dennis Lota (Orlando Pirates), Justin Shonga (Pirates), Mwape Musonda (Black Leopards), James Chamanga (Moroka Swallows) and Chris Katongo (Jomo Cosmos).

Meanwhile, Rangers have confirmed the appointment of Aggrey Chiyangi as their new head coach.

Chiyangi has taken over from Robert Tembo who recently separated from the Chingola-based side.

Chiyangi was recently axed by Green Eagles following a stretch of poor results.

He has signed a two-year contract at the Northern Copperbelt side.
