Sundowns Ladies’ Salome Kekana recalls her best moments of the season
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies attacker Salome Kekana has recalled her best moments in the recently-ended women’s football season.
She picked the moment when she scored against Costa Do Sol of Mozambique in the COSAFA Women’s Champions League and in the league against her former team Tshwane University of Technology.
SALOME KEKANA’S BEST MOMENTS
“Scoring on my continental debut against Mozambique’s Costa Do Sol in the COSAFA Women’s Champions League zonal qualifier meant so much to me because I had just returned from an injury. It was a beautiful moment, and I will always cherish that feeling,” Kekana told the club’s media department.
“I also remember how emotional I got when I scored my first league goal, which coincidentally was in the highly anticipated Tshwane derby and against my former side, TUT.”
Kekana further revealed her goal for the upcoming season, which kicks off in 2023.
IMPROVE PERFORMANCE
“I look forward to improving my performance to get more playing time. We desire to fight for every competition we participate in, and I am determined to contribute to the success of the team.
“Given that we are the defending champions in the league, everyone will be aiming to dethrone us. However, I am ready to give everything to achieve our objectives,” she added.
The 24-year-old hit the ground running with Masandawana in her debut season. The speedy forward found the back of the net six times in the league.
Her contribution helped the team to retain the Hollywoodbets Super League title and seal automatic qualification into the 2023 CAF Women’s Championship.
