SA striker Lyle Foster seals ‘dream move’ to Burnley
English Championship leaders Burnley have completed the signing of SA striker Lyle Foster from Belgian side, K.V.C Westerlo on an undisclosed fee.
Foster put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal at Turf Moor, the England second-division side said on Wednesday evening.
The 22-year-old striker is the club’s third signing of the January transfer window.
And the Orlando Pirates development product, Foster described the move as a dream come true.
Foster will become the second South African player to be coached by the Manchester City legend, Vincent Kompany after Percy Tau.

“I am very happy to be here, I’m blessed and thankful for the opportunity and I just can’t wait to get started,” said Foster.
“From the moment I heard that there was interest from Burnley, my heart and head were set on the club.
“I’m so happy to be here now. It’s a dream for me.”
Foster joins a side in good form as Burnley are at the summit of England’s first division with 62 points after 28 points, in pole position for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Kompany’s side are currently the highest goal-scorers in the league with 55 goals. This is Burnley’s first season back in the first division since 2015/16 season.
Foster will be expected to bang in the goals at his new club as they push for a place in the Premiership.
He has had stints in Ligue 1 at AS Monaco, Belgian side Cercle Brugge and Portuguese club Vitoria SC.
The striker made a good impression in Belgium at Westerlo, catching the attention of Burnley.
He scored eight goals and provided four assists in 21 games in the league this season.
The Soweto-born striker might make his debut in the FA Cup against Ipswich Town on Saturday, 28 January.
